Captain Cook was only just over 50 years when he died, but he carved out for himself, an amazing life of exploration and adventure. When he first visited the Tweed Heads area in 1770; he almost escaped a shipwreck and named the place, Point of Danger. This point stands in the border of NSW and QLD by the sea side. There is a memorial built in Point of Danger in honour of Captain Cook.

Fingal head is one of the most unique places in the world where you can see the great beauty of the ocean, sky and the earth from the edge of the land by the sea from a higher ground. The scenic bush walk that leads up to this cliff is a rejuvenating walk that has a few steps.

The Cook Island Aquatic reserve is located in the Tweed Shire of NSW and is an environmentally protected special place. Entry to the Island is highly restricted, this being a breeding place for seabirds and marine life.

You can view the Cook Island from Fingal Head. This is a great view with flying birds around the island, the deep blue sea forming the background, surfers in the deeper sea by side and beautiful Gold Coast braced in the horizon.
Other than these feasts you may also see dolphins frolicking in the waves sometimes even amidst the surfers.
