Tours and Transfers Toowoomba

Toowoomba is a wonderful city with more than 150 gardens. There are so many other attractions in this city. Some of the must sees in this city includes:

The Japanese Garden

Made in collaboration with a master gardener from Kyoto, the University of Southern Queensland created a large, peaceful area where families come to let the little ones toddle and wander among the grass, clamber up gently rounded rocks and feed playful ducks on the northernmost part of their campus. Discover the tranquillity of the 4.5 hectare area with elements of mountain streams, waterfalls, Dry Garden, Azalea Hill, and many species of both Japanese and native Australian plants as you walk along the 3 kilometres of walkways that frame the landscape. As you stroll among the large rocks it will soon become a common sight to see elegant swans gliding along the water as an artist paints the bursting masses of lilac wisteria blossoms hanging from a pergola, or small children giggling delightedly as ducks waddle awkwardly to collect morsels of bread that have been thrown in glee.

Cobb+Co Museum

Home to the National Carriage Collection, the Cobb+Co Museum boasts a variety of interactive exhibits, displays and heritage trade workshops. As you immerse yourself in the activities provided, an age of Australian transport will be revisited as natural and cultural history is revealed. As you stroll through the National Carriage Collection, discover the part that the 47 horse-drawn vehicles played in Queensland’s development. At the Coach Stop play area, the kids can become shop attendants in the old days of the Museum General Store, or high fashion ladies and gentlemen in a long-forgotten era. If they are more adventurous, seeing the world atop a life-sized replica of a horse should do it as they imagine riding into town with lifesaving or life-changing news for everyone. If you’ve got a bit more time, get your hands on history, and learn how life was in the olden days with 1-5 day workshops in traditional skills such as lead lighting, blacksmithing or millinery, and create something beautiful, but functional for everyday use.

Toowoomba Railway Station

Toowoomba Railway Station is chock-full of history, opening in the 1870s, a busy centre for trade and travellers, visited by a prime minister in times gone by. The original railway refreshment room has since been renovated into a magnificent restaurant complete with fireplace and displays of railway silverware and crockery bearing the official railway insignia. Strolling to the northern end of the station, where Prime Minister Billy Hughes once stood, urging young men to enlist in the army, a stately, carved honour board made of silky oak is in the place of honour. A record that leaves no doubt about the impact that World War 1 left on the local population, the Roll of Honour holds a listing of 560 names in gold lettering on stoic cedar panels detailed with the Queensland Railways symbol, scrolls, shells, and the Australian Coat of Arms. The tribute stands as a reminder of the heroic people who fought for our country’s freedom, and as standing on the platform, there is a moment of solemnity for the lives lost.
