At the time of writing this blog, Uber is not legalised in Queensland. ( At the time of publishing this Uber is legal in QLD. Uber provide excellent service at an affordable price to the customers.)

But Uber has been actively promoting the use of its services and has been recruiting drivers.

If you are considering becoming an Uber partner, (an Uber driver), you might want to take into account the following suggestions.

  1. Get in touch with a current Uber driver so that he can refer you. This reference get the existing Uber driver a commission of approximately 200 dollars after the successful completion of 20 trips.
  2. The Uber driver who refers you will, in most cases, be more than happy to mentor you and impart invaluable tips to have successful journeys.
  3. Visit your local Queensland Transport and Main Roads office and get the application forms for Drivers Authority.
  4. Visit a local GP to get medical certificate on the prescribed form.
  5. Visit local Queensland Transport and Main Roads office the second time to present the application form and fee.
  6. Wait for the Drivers Authority Card (similar to the Driving license)  to arrive by post.
